The main purpose of this site is to create a platform to support those who are preparing for their RACGP exams particularly the OSCE RACGP exams. In addition, we are here to promote Mental Health awareness and training, better self care for Doctors, and a biopsychosocial model of health for patients. We are independent of the RACGP.

Emotions can truly be contagious, so how can we as Doctors, be immunized against unhelpful feelings of others
Have you ever had the experience where you can sense the feeling of another e.g. anger, and before you know it, it suddenly becomes your feeling, and now you are acting in anger or frustration?
Emotions can truly be contagious. Not only that, that feeling can then metastasize to many other areas in our lives if we are not careful, especially as a Family Doctor.
So how can we “immunize” ourselves from this?
Mindfulness in the midst of the storm. Being present and defused enough to allow others to feel how they feel while still caring, and know the difference between their feeling and ours.
