The main purpose of this site is to create a platform to support those who are preparing for their RACGP exams particularly the OSCE RACGP exams. In addition, we are here to promote Mental Health awareness and training, better self care for Doctors, and a biopsychosocial model of health for patients. We are independent of the RACGP.

How to have an authentic life
One of the most common regrets of the dying is not being able to live life true to self. Living an “authentic life” so to speak.
So it’s important to try and achieve that in our lifetime. This is because living a life authentically may give us more inner harmony perhaps.
But at times, we see folks who misinterpret what it means to “live a life authentically”. Often it’s not easy to do it well.
Authenticity when used well as a value = workability the real world, AND also allows others to be authentic too. We don’t expect others to change us/impose things on us, AND at the same time, we don’t want to change others or impose things on others either. We try to reach consensus through authenticity.
Authenticity when not used well = not workable and expecting others to change from who they are, AND at the same time, expect others to accept us for who we are.
There are nuances in that.
Definitely not easy. I hope you know what I mean.
